CHIL-LOCK CP-240 is an economic, fire retardant, polymeric water-based asbestos removal agent and post removal sealer. As a post removal sealer, it is designed to mist, lock down, and seal free asbestos fibers and residual asbestos containing material (ACM) after removal. It effectively locks the ACM onto cleaned, exposed substrates and polyethylene sheeting within the containment area to prevent any loose fibers from becoming airborne. It adheres to structural steel and surfaces to be reinsulated for service temperature applications up to 250ºF (121ºC). It is also used as a primer on structural surfaces to be fireproofed in respray applications. CP-240 may also be used in a diluted form as an asbestos removal agent to mist and wet ACM for removal purposes in the containment area.

CP-240 asbestos removal agent/post removal sealer is waterbased and contains no harmful solvents. It has no objectionable odor and does not adversely affect workers in the containment area or in areas adjacent to the abatement operations. Application is quick and easy. CHIL- LOCK contains no asbestos, lead, mercury, or mercury compounds.

 

LIMITATIONS:

Do not store over 100ºF (38ºC). Do not apply below 32ºF (0ºC) or to surfaces operating at, or intended to operate in excess of 250ºF (121ºC). Protect from freezing until dry.

DRYING TIME: (Drying time is dependent upon temperature, humidity, and film thickness.)

COVERAGE: (Coverage is dependent upon the nature of the substrate.)

                      Lock Down: 150-500 sq. ft./U.S. gal. (3.7-12.2 sq. m/l)

                      Fireproofing: Not less than 1,000 sq. ft./U.S. gal. (24.5 sq. m/l) when used with W.R. Grace Retro-Guard® Types RG and RG1. Not less than 150                           sq. ft./U.S. gal. (3.7 sq. m/l) when used with Isolatek International Cafco® Blaze-Shield® Types D-C/F.

                       Smoke Developed: 0 Applied to 1/4 inch (6.35mm) inorganic reinforced cement board at a coverage rate of 150 sq. ft./ gal. The flame spread                           may vary at different product thicknesses and/or when applied over surfaces other than inorganic reinforced cement board.
